       While in Thailand, use only authorized taxis . Some tourists who have used unauthorized taxis have reported that they have been robbed and assaulted.

       According to Thai law, motor cycle riders and pillion riders are required to wear helmets but motorcycle taxis do often not provide them. Therefore, make sure that helmets are provided, or otherwise avoid using the motorcycle taxi.

        Ferry travel in Thailand can be dangerous, as vessel passenger limits are not always observed or sufficient life jackets provided.

        Sexual assault, food and drink spiking, assault and robbery occurs particularly around popular backpacker destinations such as Khao San Road in Bangkok and the night-time entertainment zones of Bangkok and Pattaya.
