Recent earthquake causes internet problem in Thailand. According to Telecom Public Company LTD, seventy percent of internet subscribers could not access internet since Wednesday. Thailand is not the only country that faces internet connection problems. There are millions of other people across Asia who find the same problem since last Thursday.
There are at least eight boats went out to fix damaged fibre-optic cables between Hong Kong and Taiwan. Though stock market function normally now, websites still face problem.
NTT Communications said, “Our system is gradually recovering leading Japanese long-distance provider .”
The authority of Taiwan and Hong Kong warned that the fixing could take up to three weeks, even though five maintenance ships were sent out to repair cables. Chungwha Telecom sent three boats from Singapore, Japan, and Britain.
China, Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan are all affected by the earthquake. The earthquake is a reminder of life before internet. Millions of life depend on internet for emails, stock investing, and more.
