Located 785 kilometers north of Bangkok, Chiang Rai Province is one of the most exotic places to visit in Thailand. It is present within the famous Golden Triangle area where Myanmar, Laos and Thailand converge. Chiang Rai is also called as the gateway to Myanmar, Laos and South China. Chiang Rai Province is well connected through road, rail and air with Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Tourists can take Thai Airways flights or bus services from Bangkok’s Northern Bus terminal to reach here. Tourists can even hire a car from Chiang Mai or have a long boat ride on the Mae Kok River to reach Chiang Rai. The city has various popular hotels offering accommodation at affordable prices.
