Loei Tourist Attraction :
Loei Province Cultural Center
| Located in the northeastern part of Thailand, the province of Loei is one of the most sparsely populated regions in the country better known for its abundant natural resources and rugged landscape featuring low mountains, waterfalls, fertile plains and vast tracts of open lands.
Several important tourist places are present inside the region and are worth a visit. One such destination is the Loei Province Cultural Center .
Located in the Loei Ratchabhat Institute, Loei Province Cultural Center is present just 5 kilometers from the city of Loei on the Loei-Chiang Khan Road.
Loei Province Cultural Center was initiated with the objective of providing extensive information about the province including its past and the present. The entire center can be divided into three major sections. The fist section provides information about the past and present of the province including the general lives of local residents and their habits through a number of slide shows. The next section is primarily devoted to the existence of Buddhism in the province. Also present in this section are numerous utensils and other artifacts that were used by villagers in Loei. Visitors can feel enamored by the variety of masks that are worn by people during the all important Phi Ta Khon Festival. One can even gain information about the local customs, traditions and attires worn by the people of Loei during various festivals and events that are celebrated in the region. The third section contains items that provide overall information about the history, geography and ethnic groups of Loei.
The center remains open for visitors daily from morning 8.30 a.m. until evening 4.00 p.m. Admission into this center is free.
