Nakhon Si Thammarat Province:
Nakhon Si Thammarat province is one of the southern provinces of Thailand located on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand. The province’s name comes from its Pali name “Nagara Sri Dhammaraja” meaning the City of the Sacred Dharma King and when pronounced in Thai it becomes Nakhon Si Thammarat.
Nakhon Si Thammarat has the highed elevation in southern Thailand and this is the Khao Luang which is 1,835 meters tall and located in Khao Luang National Park. The province is divided into 23 districts which are further subdivided into 165 subdistricts and 1428 villages.
