The Origin of the Chao Phraya River :

Present in the northern part of Thailand is the one of the most glamorous parts of the country known as Nakhon Sawan Province. Amongst the major tourist attractions located around the province is the origin of Chao Phraya River, the largest and the most important waterway in Thailand.
According to the historical evidences, the river was originally known as Mae Nam. The name “Chao Phraya” or the “River of Kings” was coined at a later period.
