Thailand Marriage Registration

    The process of Marriage Registration in Thailand is simple, and it can be done in any district in Thailand from 8 a.m. to 3p.m.

Required Documents For Thai Nationals:

  1. Thai Identification Cards
  2. House Registration Certificates
  3. If the applicant has been married before, you will need to show to the proof of divorce to the District officials. If you are a widow or widower, you need to bring Death certificates of the decease.
  4. Bring Witness


 Required Documents For Foreigners:

  1. A copy of your passport
  2. Translated affidavit of marital status from the Embassy
  3. The document will need to be authenticated. The procedure will normally take two days.


Special Note: Try to allow at least four working days, if you plan to marry in Bangkok. You are required to stay in Thailand for the minimum of 3 days before your marriage. You need to have enough time. While you are waiting, it is a good opportunity to take your newly wedded husband/wife to see Thailand.
