Thailand 90-Day Report: Window, Late Fine and Online Filing

Report your address to immigration in the window from 15 days before to 7 days after your 90-day due date. You can file in person, through someone you authorise, by registered post or online. A late report is made in person and settled with a THB 2,000 fine. Leaving Thailand restarts the 90-day count.

Stay more than 90 days on one entry and you owe immigration a short address report, which you can file from 15 days before your due date until 7 days after. Miss that and the counter fine is THB 2,000.

Who has to report

A foreigner permitted to stay temporarily who stays in Thailand over 90 days must report their residence every 90 days. Section 37(5) of the Immigration Act is the legal basis. The report is not a visa extension.

You are under the line if you came visa-exempt for a 30-day tourist stay, even with one tourist extension of up to 30 days. A DTV holder may stay up to 180 days per entry, so the duty applies. O-A long-stay holders notify every 90 days. LTR visa holders report once a year instead.

How to file

Outside Bangkok, report to the immigration office that covers where you live. In Bangkok, residents go to the 90 Days Notification Section, Immigration Division 1, in the Government Complex at Chaeng Wattana, Building B, 2nd floor.

In person

Bring your passport, the departure card TM.6 if you have one, and your previous 90-day receipt if you have reported before. Form TM.47 must be filled in and signed by you, not another person.

Through another person

You may authorise someone else to take the notification to the office. The form still has to carry your own signature.

By registered post

Registered post is an official channel, and the papers go to your local office at least 15 days before the due date. Include an envelope with a THB 10 stamp and your return address. The papers come back after approximately 30 days.

Online

The Immigration Bureau runs the online report at tm47.immigration.go.th, and you can send it from 15 days before the due date. The system emails the result within 3 days.

After a change of passport the online service does not work, so make that first report at the local office in person or through another person.

If you are late

A report after the window is made in person and settled with a fine of THB 2,000. Once that fine is paid, the case is deemed settled under the Criminal Procedure Code.

If police arrest you for a missing report, the fine is THB 4,000 to THB 5,000.

Shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five thousand baht and a further fine not exceeding two hundred baht a day until compliance. Immigration Act B.E. 2522, section 76

A late report is not an overstay, which carries its own fine of THB 500 per day up to a maximum of THB 20,000.

Step by step

  1. Find your due dateCount 90 days from the first day of your latest entry into Thailand.
  2. Pick a channel inside the windowFile from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date. Send an online report 15 days ahead.
  3. Prepare form TM.47 and your passportBring the passport, the departure card TM.6 if you have one, your previous receipt and form TM.47 signed by you.
  4. File at your local office or on the portalOutside Bangkok, report to the immigration office that covers where you live. In Bangkok, use the 90 Days Notification Section in the Government Complex.
  5. Keep the receiptThe online system emails the result within 3 days. Posted papers come back after approximately 30 days.

Not confirmed: The Cabinet approved a draft amendment to the Immigration Act on 23 June 2026. It is a draft, not law. Official pages do not state the online closing day before the due date, or how to replace a lost receipt.

Do I need a 90-day report on a tourist or visa-exempt stay?

A 30-day tourist exemption with one tourist extension of up to 30 days stays under the 90-day line.

What is the penalty for a late 90-day report?

A late report costs THB 2,000 and is made in person. If you are arrested without a report, the fine is THB 4,000 to THB 5,000.

    usually it's if you don't put the floor and unit number of your condo. for some reason they need to know this in all official documentation.
