Bangkok to Krabi: Flights From THB 1,110, Sleeper Train and Bus

A direct flight from Bangkok to Krabi takes 1 h 25 min to 1 h 30 min. The one-way fare is THB 1,110 on the cheapest day listed. The Lignite overnight bus runs THB 779 to THB 1,170. The train stops at Surat Thani, followed by a bus.

Flying from Bangkok to Krabi

Thai AirAsia flies to Krabi from both Don Mueang and Suvarnabhumi. It has flown from Suvarnabhumi again since 1 October 2026, with two daily flights to Krabi.

On Tuesday 27 October six direct flights left Suvarnabhumi for Krabi.

The flight times run 1 h 25 min to 1 h 30 min. From Don Mueang, the 17:40 Thai AirAsia flight of Wednesday 21 October took 1 h 20 min at THB 1,464.

Fares change from day to day. AirAsia’s fare calendar showed THB 2,278 for Sunday 18 October and THB 1,884 for Monday 19 October. The same calendar marks Tuesday 27 October at THB 1,110 as the cheapest day it lists.

Krabi International Airport is about 10 km from the city limits, 15 km from the city centre and 40 km from Ao Nang. Ao Nang is the beach resort most visitors head for; the Krabi and Ao Nang guide covers the beaches and the ride from the airport.

The overnight bus

Lignite Tour sells the Bangkok to Krabi bus. All departures sampled for 19 October leave the Southern Bus Terminal (Sai Tai Mai).

The buses arrive at the Krabi bus terminal. Krabi buses use the bus terminal at Talad Kao, about 5 km north of the town centre. Ao Nang is a further ride from the terminal, so plan a taxi or songthaew for the last leg.

Sleeper train to Surat Thani, then bus

There is no through train to Krabi in this timetable. Travellers take the sleeper train from Bangkok to Surat Thani and change there to the Krabi bus.

Fares

On train 43 the only coach is a 2nd class air-conditioned seating coach at THB 524. Train 39 is the same, at THB 524.

Surat Thani to Krabi

Phantip Travel runs the bus. It boards at Surat Thani town and at Surat Thani train station. The bus costs THB 250 to Krabi town and THB 500 to the Ao Nang area. The ride takes about 4 to 4.5 hours.

Phantip’s own service list offers the Krabi bus terminal, a hotel in Krabi town, Ao Nam Mao pier and any hotel in Ao Nang as drop-offs. The Ao Nang drop-off is at your hotel, and you give the hotel name when booking.

Lomprayah also runs Surat Thani to Krabi, six trips a day from 08:00, from THB 1,000.

Which one to pick

For a day-of arrival with no night spent travelling, take the flight: the six sampled flights left between 07:00 and 18:40. Fares from THB 1,110 sit within reach of the bus First Class fare of THB 1,170.

For the lowest listed ground fare, the Lignite Economy bus at THB 779 reaches Krabi at 08:40 the next day.

For a bed and a rail ride, a 2nd class sleeper berth on a Rapid train costs THB 654 upper. The bus then costs THB 250 to Krabi town or THB 500 to Ao Nang.
