Piers and check-in

Klong Jilad is Krabi’s main passenger ferry terminal, a few kilometres south of Krabi Town. Arrive 30 minutes before departure to check in. On Phi Phi, Tonsai is the main gateway to Koh Phi Phi Don, so you land right where the island’s boats and counters are.

Tonsai Pier also has luggage storage.

Booking and refunds

Tickets are on sale at the pier, but booking ahead secures your seat, especially in high season. Online booking stays open until the departure time, subject to seat availability. Want a different date? Send your booking reference to the reservations team, who check whether the change is possible and whether extra charges apply.

Cancel with 48 hours notice and 70 percent is refunded, at the operator’s discretion. A later cancellation or a no-show is charged at 100 percent.

Want a faster boat?

Tigerline’s Phi Phi and Krabi run takes about 45 minutes. Fares sit between THB 500 and 1000, so check the exact price on its booking site.

If you travel with young children or are over 65, the slower ferry is the better pick. The speedboat has restrictions for passengers with health conditions, pregnant women and very young children.

Luggage and children

The fare includes one suitcase of up to 25 inches plus one handbag. Each extra piece costs THB 300, and you load and unload your own bags. The speedboat is stricter, with one suitcase of up to 18 inches.

The child fare covers ages 4 to 11. Children under 11 are not accepted unless a person aged at least 18 travels with them.

Park entry fee

Plan for a special charge at Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai. There a foreign adult pays THB 400 and a foreign child THB 200, set by a DNP notice of 19 September 2022.

Staying in Ao Nang?

The pier at Ao Nang (Nopparat Thara Beach) is a gateway to the Phi Phi Islands. Pick Ao Nang as your departure point on the operator’s booking page to see times for your date. For another island nearby, read the Koh Lanta guide.

Krabi to Phi Phi to Koh Lanta Hello All Sorry if this is a daft question. First time to Thailand. We're flying into Krabi Airport & will be staying on Koh Lanta. Is it possible to get the boat/ferry/speedboat to do a quick tour around Phi Phi on the way to Koh Lanta? If it helps my wife does speak Thai (*American born but hasn't been there since she was young)* so we could negotiate a deal, if needed. I just wanted to know if it was logistically possible. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Phuket to Krabi ferry? I'm looking for a way to get from north of Phuket (airport area) to Krabi. Having difficulty finding a ferry. Anybody done a similar route?

    1. AusJackal

Green Ocean / Green Planet offers a speed boat service that runs between Phuket and Ao Nang, takes approx 1.5 hrs. Busses or taxis can connect you to Krabi from there. This is the fastest way to get across. However, if travelling with more than two people, it might be cheaper to charter a minibus.

Prices, timetables and opening hours change; check with the operator before you travel. See how guides are checked.
