Phuket to Krabi by Boat: Speedboat Times, Fares and Piers

The direct boat is the Andaman Wave Master speedboat from Rassada Pier: it leaves at 08:45, reaches Krabi's Klong Jilad Pier in 2 hours for THB 1,000, or Ao Nang in 1.5 hours for THB 1,150. Schedules may change without notice, and tickets sell out quickly in high season.

If you want to be in Krabi before lunch, the morning speedboat from Rassada Pier is the boat to book. It leaves at 08:45, so you arrive mid-morning with the day still ahead of you, and the operator publishes one fare per destination rather than a price that changes by counter.

The direct speedboats

Andaman Wave Master runs two direct speedboats from Rassada Pier. Choose Krabi if you are heading to the town or the airport side, and Ao Nang if your hotel is on the beach.

Both run daily, and the operator warns that the schedule and period of operation may change without notice. Check the timetable again a few days before you travel.

The slower route via Phi Phi

A ferry leaves Rassada Pier at 08:30 and reaches Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi at 10:30, for THB 700 one way for an adult in standard class. From Phi Phi, ferries to Krabi leave at 10:30 and 15:30 for THB 450. That 10:30 boat leaves as the Phuket ferry arrives, so plan on the 15:30 if you go this way.

Piers and how to reach them

Rassada Pier is Phuket’s main ferry terminal, a few minutes from Phuket Town. In Krabi, Klong Jilad Pier is the main passenger ferry terminal, a few kilometres south of Krabi Town. Ao Nang boats use Nopparat Thara Pier, the main Ao Nang terminal for large ferries and speedboats to Phi Phi, Lanta and Phuket. From Krabi International Airport the drive to that pier takes approximately 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic.

Booking, check-in and luggage

In high season, ferry and speedboat tickets sell out quickly, so the operator recommends booking at least 2 to 3 days ahead. Booking in advance is also highly recommended to secure seats in busy periods. Check in 30 minutes before departure.

For luggage, a speedboat fare includes 1 suitcase up to 18 inches and 1 handy bag per person. The child fare applies to ages 4 to 11, and from 1 November 2025 an infant under 4 pays THB 300 per person per way on a speedboat. The speedboat has specific restrictions for passengers with health conditions, pregnant women and very young children.

Refunds are issued at the operator’s discretion with 48 hours cancellation notice, at 70% of the total amount. Because of that, book a flexible onward plan before you buy.
