Thailand Domestic Flights: Free 20 kg Bag on Bangkok Airways, None on Eco
A Bangkok Airways economy ticket includes 20 kg of checked baggage. A Thai Airways domestic economy ticket includes one 23 kg piece for travel from 2 March 2026. A Thai Vietjet Eco fare has no checked bag. On Nok Air the free allowance is 0, 15 or 25 kg by fare.

Thai AirAsia
Keep hand luggage at 7 kg or under, and buy a checked allowance for anything heavier. Checked baggage on a domestic flight costs THB 624 for 15 kg and THB 663 for 20 kg per person per sector.
Waiting until the last hours is costly: buying checked baggage less than four hours before departure costs THB 900 for the first 20 kg.
Nok Air
Your fare sets the free bag: 0 kg on Nok Lite, 15 kg on Nok X-Tra and 25 kg on Nok MAX. A Nok Lite passenger can pay a flat THB 1,200 at the airport counter for the first 20 kg. Buying 15 kg extra with the ticket costs THB 600, and each piece of checked baggage must not exceed 30 kg.
Bangkok Airways
An economy adult or child ticket includes 20 kg of checked baggage. Prepaid baggage for more costs THB 600 for 5 kg, and excess baggage at the airport is THB 180 per kilogram per sector.
Thai Airways
Each domestic economy passenger has one piece of 23 kg on Flexi, Full Flex, Standard and Saver fares, for tickets with travel on or after 2 March 2026.
Thai Vietjet
Your fare decides what you carry free. Eco includes no checked baggage, Deluxe adds 20 kg, and SkyBoss includes 30 kg. A checked piece may weigh at most 32 kg.
Power banks and liquids
Power banks go in cabin baggage only and never in checked luggage. Units up to 100 Wh are permitted, and the limit is two per passenger.
You may not charge a power bank on board or use it to charge a phone during the flight. Liquids in the cabin must be in containers of 100 ml or less, inside one transparent resealable bag of up to 1 litre.
Getting to the airport on time
Be at a Bangkok Airways counter at least 1.30 hours before a domestic flight, and the counter closes 40 minutes before. Thai Vietjet check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. Thai AirAsia asks you to arrive 2 to 3 hours before. For airport transfers see the Grab and Bolt guide.
