Erawan Falls Fee: THB 300 Adults, THB 150 Children
Erawan is an easy day from Bangkok: foreign visitors pay THB 300 per adult and THB 150 per child at the gate, and a car adds THB 30. Without a car, take bus 8170 from Kanchanaburi bus station, which runs every hour.

Bring THB 300 for each adult and THB 150 for each child; that is what foreigners pay at the Erawan gate. Thai visitors pay THB 60 per adult and THB 30 per child. If you drive in, the car costs another THB 30 and a motorcycle THB 20.
| Visitor | Child | Adult |
|---|---|---|
| Foreigner | THB 150 | THB 300 |
| Thai | THB 30 | THB 60 |

Erawan sits in Group 3 of the national park fee schedule. Other parks use the same tiers, so Thailand national park fees for foreigners covers them.
Is it worth the trip?
Yes, if you like swimming and a bit of walking. Start with the easy Mong Lai forest trail, which hugs the stream for about 1 km and takes under an hour. If you have time, add the Khao Hin Lan Pi trail to the upper falls, a walk of about 2 hours that gives the clearest view of the top tier in the wet season.
Pick another day if haze has closed the park, as it did in April 2026. It has since reopened and the annual closure list has no seasonal break for Erawan. For hours, the park shop is open from 08:00 to 16:30.
Getting there from Bangkok

Without a car, take the bus from the Southern Terminal to Kanchanaburi, which leaves every 15 minutes from 04:00 to 20:30. The ride takes about 2 hours 30 minutes. From Kanchanaburi bus station, bus 8170 goes to the park every hour from 08:00 to 17:20.
By car it is roughly 130 km from Bangkok, and Kanchanaburi town is about halfway. Save the park office numbers before you go, 0 3457 4222 and 0 3457 4234.
Death Railway and Hellfire Pass
If you want the famous train ride, two trains run from Thonburi toward Nam Tok: train 257 at 07:45 and train 259 at 13:55. The morning train crosses the Kwai Yai Bridge at 10:35 and reaches Nam Tok at 12:05.
Flooding can change this quickly, so ask at the station that the Nam Tok section is running before you plan around it.

Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre is free to enter and open from 09:00 to 16:00 daily. Arrive before 15:00 if you want the audio tour. The short Blue Walk from the centre to the memorial takes 45 minutes to an hour.
On the way back through town, Kanchanaburi War Cemetery is open 08:00 to 17:00 on weekdays, and only until 12:00 on Saturday.
For a stop earlier on the road out of Bangkok, read Ayutthaya Historical Park tickets.
