National park fee tiers for foreigners

Thailand’s Department of National Parks sorts its national parks into four groups, and the group sets the entry fee. The groups come from a regulation published in the Royal Gazette on 9 December 2021. The schedule took effect on 7 June 2022.

Special charges at Khao Yai and the Phi Phi islands

A clause of the regulation lets the Director-General announce a special charge for a tourist site with important or fragile natural resources, with the National Park Committee approving. A notice dated 19 September 2022 names five parks: Khao Yai, Khao Laem Ya-Mu Ko Samet, Mu Ko Ang Thong, Phi Phi and Mu Ko Lanta.

Phi Phi islands

At Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Le and Ko Mai Phai a foreign adult pays a special charge of THB 400 and a foreign child THB 200. The base fee at Phi Phi is THB 200 for a foreign adult and THB 100 for a foreign child. Read the total on your e-ticket before you pay.

Children, seniors and residents

For this schedule a child is aged 3 to 14, or no taller than 140 cm. Children under 3 are exempt, together with disabled people and monks.

Rates follow nationality

The regulation defines a foreigner by nationality. The senior exemption covers Thai seniors aged 60 and over, so a foreign senior pays the group’s adult rate.

On national days the Director-General may waive person and vehicle charges for Thai nationals. Thai students and Thai study groups pay the child rate. Foreign visitors pay the full rate on those days and at those groups.

The Gazette closure announcement for 2026 lists, park by park, the sites that close and when. The marine parks close longest.
