Bring THB 300 for each foreign adult and THB 150 for each foreign child (as of 2 June 2022). Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai sits in Group 3 of the national park fee schedule, together with Erawan and Sai Yok. Thai visitors pay THB 60 per adult and THB 30 per child.

Visitor Child Adult
Foreigner THB 150 THB 300
Thai THB 30 THB 60

Doi Inthanon does not appear among the five parks named in the 19 September 2022 notice on special service charges. So the Group 3 rate is the price to plan around. For the other groups, see Thailand national park fees for foreigners.

Vehicle charges

The park fee does not include the vehicle. A 4-wheel car pays THB 30 and a motorcycle THB 20 per vehicle (as of 2 June 2022). A 6-wheel vehicle pays THB 100.

How to pay

Doi Inthanon is one of the six parks in the QueQ e-ticket pilot. The app takes debit cards, credit cards, cross-bank bill payment and PromptPay. You show a QR code from the app to the officer as proof of payment.

Who it suits (and who should skip it)

  • Cool-air seekers: the weather is cool throughout the year, and the cool season brings fog and early-morning frost flowers.
  • Waterfall and pagoda visitors: the park lists the Mae Klang, Wachirathan, Siriphum and Mae Ya waterfalls, plus the two Great Holy Relics Pagodas.
  • Trail walkers: the Kew Mae Pan and Ang Ka nature trails are on the park’s list, though Kew Mae Pan is closed until 31 October.

What the park is

Doi Inthanon rises 2,565 m above sea level and is the highest mountain in Thailand. The national park covers 1,005 square kilometres.

Closures in 2026

The Department of National Parks list in the Royal Gazette closes the Kew Mae Pan nature trail and Lan Sadet waterfall from 1 June to 31 October. That closure runs to 31 October, so we recommend planning on November if the trail is your main goal. A camping zone, the Mae Pan waterfall to Huai Sai Lueang zone, is closed with no end date.
