Thailand Immigration Fees: THB 1,900 Extension, THB 1,000 Re-Entry
An extension of stay costs THB 1,900. A re-entry permit costs THB 1,000 for one trip or THB 3,800 for several. Fines are separate: a late 90-day report is settled for THB 2,000, and an overstay costs THB 500 a day up to THB 20,000. Fees on the Bureau schedule are not refunded.

Immigration fee table: what each service costs
The extension and re-entry fees sit on the Bureau fee schedule. The change-of-category and visa-on-arrival fees come from other Bureau and ministry pages. Schedule fees are not refunded, whether or not the application is approved.

The same schedule prices the visas themselves and the residence papers. You rarely need these.

Embassy visa fees are set by each embassy in its own currency. The DTV fee differs by embassy: THB 10,000 on the ministry infographic, GBP 300 in London, AUD 600 in Sydney. Read the visa types overview, the DTV guide and the LTR guide for the conditions.
Fines: what you pay for a missed deadline, and who pays
An overstay costs THB 500 per day, up to THB 20,000 for an overstay of 40 days or longer. The other fines hit different people, so check who owes what.
| Offence | Fine | Who pays |
|---|---|---|
| Overstay | THB 500 a day, max THB 20,000 | The foreigner, before leaving |
| Overstay taken to court | Up to 2 years in prison or up to THB 20,000, or both | The foreigner |
| 90-day report made late | THB 2,000, paid when you report in person | The foreigner |
| 90-day report missed (the Act) | Up to THB 5,000 plus up to THB 200 a day until you comply | The foreigner |
| TM.30 not filed within 24 hours | Up to THB 2,000; THB 2,000 to THB 10,000 for a hotel manager | The host or hotel, not the guest |

On arrest, one office quotes THB 5,000 for the 90-day failure, well above the late-report THB 2,000.
Once the fine is paid as settled, the case is deemed settled under the Criminal Procedure Code. The overstay guide covers the re-entry bans that follow a long overstay.

A few hours of overstay usually draw no fine. A one-week overstay costs 7 days x THB 500 = THB 3,500. Treat the waiver as practice, not a right.
How to pay: where, when and in what form
You file an extension in person at the immigration office covering the area where you live. Bring the passport original and one copy, form TM.7 and the signed overstay acknowledgement. The extension guide has the full steps.
Counter service runs Monday to Friday, except official holidays, and the handbook gives 08.30 to 16.30 with a lunch break. Hours differ by office.
The officer issues a fee receipt and hands you the original. Keep it with the passport.
The visa-on-arrival fee is THB 2,000, cash in baht, and non-refundable. Carry cash for the other counters too.

The 90-day report goes to the office covering where you live. You can file it online at the Bureau portal or by post with an envelope carrying a THB 10 stamp. The reporting guide covers the window and online steps.
Extension and re-entry: what to pay and when
An extension costs THB 1,900 and a single re-entry permit costs THB 1,000, so staying longer and leaving once adds up to THB 2,900. A multiple re-entry permit with the extension costs THB 5,700.
Leaving without a re-entry permit ends your permitted stay. The re-entry permit guide has the counter steps. Apply on form TM.8 with a 4x6 cm photo, in person at the immigration office.
Single or multiple re-entry
Three single permits cost THB 3,000, less than one multiple permit. Four single permits cost THB 4,000, more than the multiple permit. Choose the multiple permit from the fourth trip.
LTR visa holders are exempt from the re-entry permit.

Changing visa category: THB 2,000
A change of category carried a THB 2,000 fee on the Bangkok Division 1 document lists of 2021. The fee matches the single-entry Non-Immigrant visa line.
Tourist and transit visa holders use form TM.86. The list allowed up to 90 days and required at least 15 days of the current stay to remain. A change followed by the first one-year extension costs THB 3,900.

Visa on arrival, TDAC and the tourist fee
The visa on arrival costs THB 2,000. The TDAC arrival card is free of charge, but it is not a visa.

The tourist entry fee is a proposal, not a charge. The proposed rate is a flat THB 450 per person, and the draft still goes to the National Tourism Policy Committee and the Cabinet. See the tourist entry fee page.
Cut your costs: how to avoid the fines
- Read the date on your entry stamp, and apply for an extension before the permitted stay ends.
- Diary the 90-day report: you may file from 15 days before to 7 days after the due date.
- If you host a foreigner, notify immigration within 24 hours of arrival. The host notification guide explains the filing.
- Pay any overstay fine before you leave the country.
- Visa on arrival holders generally cannot extend, except in special cases of illness that prevent travel.
Not confirmed: Cash or card: only the visa-on-arrival fee is stated as cash in baht. Ask your office about cards and about the airport re-entry fee. Confirm that an on-time report is free: the fee schedule has no line for it. Check the current figures at the counter, because this schedule is an archived copy.
